May Awareness Celebrated All Month Long
May is shaping up to be a very exciting and active month for our Society, with a number of events set up to raise awareness and support our ME and FM communities.

GOFUNDME - MAY AWARENESS SOCIETY FUNDRAISER
When: Opens April 7
Thanks to our generous donors, we have reached our first fundraising goal of $2,500. Help us reach our total goal of $10,000!
We need your help to support our efforts. We're looking for your contributions to meet our goal of $10,000 to help serve our members and their families. Monies raised through this fundraiser will go to cover costs of our May Awareness events, which you'll see below, as well as our Province-Wide Patient Outreach. "UNDREST" SCREENING AT DOXA DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL, sponsored by ME/FM Society of BC
When: Friday, May 12, 2017 at 8:30pm, AND Saturday May 13, 2017 at 12pm
Where: Pacific Cinematheque, 1131 Howe Street (@Helmcken), Vancouver, BC
Jennifer Brea’s much anticipated and acclaimed feature documentary, “Unrest” will have two screenings at Vancouver’s DOXA Film Festival. There will be a Skype Q&A with Jennifer Brea following the May 13th screening. You'll find all the details here.
LIGHTING UP FOR ME & FM
When: Friday, May 12, 2017

For the last three years the Society has approached landmark buildings in Vancouver to ask them to light up for May 12. We are doing the same again this year, and will keep you posted on who agrees to participate. Feel free to approach building managers in your city or town to light up for May 12, and let us know!

We are proud to announce that Opera Mariposa's Fifth Annual May Awareness show will be dedicated to raise awareness of the ME/FM Society of BC. A portion of every ticket sale will benefit the ME/FM Society of BC, so save the date and invite a friend to enjoy a gala concert for a great cause! The evening will include a reception and a charity raffle contest. So be sure to tell your friends and family to attend and to participate in the Opera Mariposa raffle.
CCDP WORLD CAFE
When: Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1 - 3.15 pm
Where: Chan Education Centre & Auditorium at the Child and Family Research Institute on BC Women’s Hospital campus 4480 Oak Street (Oak St at 29th Ave), Vancouver, BC (map)
Who: ME/FM Society of BC in partnership with the BC Women’s Hospital Complex Chronic Diseases Program (CCDP)
The Society is collaborating with BC Womens Hospital’s Complex Chronic Diseases Program (CCDP) to create a World cafe event. A World Cafe is a method for creating dialogue around questions that matter. There will be an online component to this event, so that patients who are homebound or not in Vancouver, can participate in some way.
